The Handbook for Constitutional Decisions in State legislatures

$8.50

State legislatures make many laws but in these laws they have two responsibilities. One is that they cannot violate federal law or the Constitution of the United States and the other they cannot violate their state Constitution. Decisions made by state legislatures or executive departments in the state must comply with the applicable constitution.

The decisions of the federal government specifically Congress must meet the test of compliance with the Constitution. Laws enacted should clearly identify the specific reference to the Constitution on which it is based. The process of making decisions must be evaluated by each of us as voters with regards to the decisions made. This book looks at this process and potentially provides some examples of decisions made as they relate to the Constitution.
